PostTottenham's White Hart Lane stadium plans approved

Tottenham have had their plans to redevelop White Hart Lane approved by the Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
The Mayor had the power to overturn last month's decision by Haringey Council to grant planning permission for the 56,000-seater stadium.

But Johnson backed the council which means the £450m redevelopment of White Hart Lane will go ahead unless the government decides to intervene.

Spurs have also registered an interest in moving to the 2012 Olympic Stadium. And with government intervention seeming unlikely, Tottenham must decide whether to press ahead with redeveloping White Hart Lane, which is called the Northumberland Development Project or pursue the Olympic Stadium option.

I've seen the designs for the new stadium, and it's looking quite good at the moment, I hope that they do build it, because I don't mind Spurs and I like stadiums, Laughing
Are they building on whats already there or building a new stadium?
Building a new one I think *-)
Oh right when they said redevelopment i thought that meant they were expanding it
Won't be the biggest stadium in North London ;D

Spurs are going in the right direction though, making big steps forward. I imagine they'll be breaking the bank competing for players during this time though, no good economically.
Duh! Their redeveloping the current area, but are rebuilding WHL.

Ahh right Smile fair enough then makes more sence now lol
There has been rumours about us moving - wouldn't want us to move to be honest, just build a bit more. They reckon we've been in contact about moving to Earls Court, but that's been denied categorically.
Hmm it'll be interesting to see about this, £450 mill would certainly take a lot out of the transfer kitty for Redknapp Neutral Or if not, a good amount of debt?

How are they funding it? Razz
Its more than likely a loan to pay for it
Tottenham actually have one of the richest boards in England, so nothing surprises me about them at the moment - and their great in the transfer market, buying players and then selling them on at a massive profit.

Now they have Champions League football, they are starting to attract the big names to go with it, which makes for interesting viewing all around.
