PostFootball Management - Vanquiish Style

Management History
Rangers 2010-2012 (Resigned)
Ireland U21s 2012 (Resigned)
Cardiff 2012 (Sacked WTF)
Saturn 2012 (Resigned)
FC Twente 2012 - ??

Cups Won 3

Follow as i try to get Rangers into a good finacial position by getting as far as possible in Europe and all cups and a few wheeling and dealing

My Aims For The Season

  • Gain as much of a profit as possible
  • Retrain a few players to cover positions
  • Atleast 3rd in Group Stage
  • As far as possible in both Scottish Cups
  • Win League
  • Get a few Bargins

I have a very small budget of £0 so for the first season i will be looking for loans and frees. The squad is small so i will be retraining a few players to other positions to cover. There will be no point seling at this moment in time seeing as i get 5% of all money made.

The Positions to get cover for are:

  • a fast striker
  • Centre Midfielder
  • Left Midfielder
  • Left Back

Pre Season Transfers

Cyril Rool

Hes 35 but he will be used as cover for Papac. He has some good tackling and will be useful

Febian Brandy

A good young cover for Kenny Miller and with some training on crossing can be used as a Winger

Yohan M'Vila

A good young Centre Mid who can also play on the right which could be helpful

Gerard Lifondja

Another youngster who can be helpful. Even if he dont play well we could get a good profit from him

Ludovic Asuar

His experience could be helpful in tutoring som youngsters and getting some goals

Savio

He may be getting on in years but dispite his age he has great stats

Pre-Season Results

We had a good pre season and unbeaten. All players have performed well and Kyle Hutton and Gregg Wylde have been promoted to the first team

Rangers Get Tough Group

Rangers have been Drawn Inter, Real Madrid and Unirea Urziceni. Rangers will need to get maximum points from Unirea to gain atleast entrance to the Europa League. This has been the main target set by the Rangers Manager.

Rangers have also Drawn a home tie against Morton in the 3rd round of the Co-Operative Insurance Cup

V

Rangers announce they have offered a contract to 33 year old Attacking Midfielderr Denilson who has just left Kavala. The Rangers boss has said he would love Denilson due to his experience and the fact he can play 3 positions

August Results

A decent start to the season getting 4 from 6 points avaliable which places us in 5th position. We should beat Hamilton next.

Denilson

This is the new signing Denilson. He will replace Greg Wylde of McCoist let Palace loan him after i had been rejecting all pre season. His Experience will help the team well and hope he gets a few goals

Very hard group there, dont think theres much chance in getting through to the next round, but you should get into the Europa League.

Some very good signings also, best of luck to you

A good month for us. Where still unbeaten in the league and the only losses come from the champions league a teams we have no chance against

As you can see we are only a point off top but we have a game in hand against Hearts and they are out next game so its a must win game.

I have not been worried about the Champions League until now. This is because we have a double against Unirea and if we win both we stand a good chance of securing a Europa League spot.

Well there are some positives to October, the cup run continuing being a highlight! Very Happy And anyway, 7 points behind with 2 games behind is not too much to worry about, you're doing really well so far! Hope you can win the league and the cup, plus get a good Europa league run going too.

Good luck and keep it up Very Happy

We i went a bit crazy last night and completed the season so i will do a end of season report

Results

Towards the end of the season the results slowed down as we lost a few players to injury including Webster, Recently Loaned Macheda and other loan star Weiss

Was slighly annoyed as i went out on away goals but it gave me some extra income which was needed

We gained our target of europa after a great 2-1 win against inter in the last game

We managed to win the scottish cup which helped in the income and we managed to get to great wins over Celtic and Hearts

Table

Well we did not manage 1st but we have still secured a Europa League spot which the money from could help us

Finances

As you can see at the moment we are 1mil in the red but we still have our sponsorships, tv money and prize money from league to come

Awards

Top Goal Scorer - Kenny Miller (25 Goals)
Most Assists - Kenny Miller & Vladimir Weiss (10 Assists)
Most MotM - Kenny Miller (10 MotM)
Adverage Rating - Kenny Miller (7.33)

As you can see Kenny Miller has performed excellent and we are lucky he accpeted a contract before anyone else could offer him one.

Aims

  • Gain as much of a profit as possible - Yet To See
  • Retrain a few players to cover positions
  • Atleast 3rd in Group Stage
  • As far as possible in both Scottish Cups
  • Win League - 3rd In League
  • Get a few Bargins

Great season report , Tom (If I can call you Tom of course Wink )!

Unlucky about the league, but yet again, positives in the fact that you at least qualified for the Europa League, it'll be easier to gain money this way, as I'm sure you can manage Rangers past the group stages.

Please post an update about the revenue money etc, as I would like to see if you did achieve your aim of making as much profit as possible !

I'm really enjoying this ongoing thread Tom, so keep it up Smile

Who's not been reading this properly then????

This is good, vanquers, but how does the board feel about 3rd place in the league?

Pressure's on for your 2nd season. Good luck

Good work, shame about the league, as the deeb said, what did the board say about this?

Time to build a squad to take you through to further rounds of the Europa League i think Smile

The board have been fine but i think mainly as i set challanger instead of winner last season.

I have made a £10Million profit over the last season mainly from Tv money and prize money

Pre-season

Transfers

Again this season i went for Frees and loans. This way i can get good players at minimal cost. I also sold a few players like Brandy and Denilson at a profit. It was not my plan to let Bougherra go but i could not offer the amount of wages he wanted so i thought i would get a decent amount for him now rather then a free. I have also re united the M'Vila brothers who will partner each other in the centre of the park and we can welcome back Macheda and Weiss who are glad to be back

Results

We have made it through to the 4th Qualifying round in the Europa League after beating Borac 4-1 on Agg. Most Friendlys i did not care about the result as i was looking to blend the squad and gain some income

Finances

The club now have £22Million which is £21Million more then we had at the start of last season.

If anyone would like any screenshots of players or so on just ask

Mid Season Report

Results

as you can see we had a great period of games without a loss. Jelavic has been off last couple of games and unable to score.

Table

We have a 3 point lead and game in hand over Celtic. We are currently on track to win the league.

Europa League Group

As you can see it was a very tight group and we where unlucky to lose out on 2nd place

Finances

We have lost some money since the beginning of the season but we are still £12Million clear off the red

Post January Report

New Signing - Joao Silva - Loan fee 150K

New Signing - Aleksander Drogovic - Loan Fee 300K

New Signing - Barry Douglas - £1.2Million from Dundee United

Results

Table

Joao Silva was brought in after a dip in form of Jelavic. Douglas was needed as my only cover at Left Back was Wylde who is a left midfielder and Drogovic is a great youngster who will gain a load of 1st team apperences here. We have made it throught to the Co-Op cup final and we face Dundee United who have been performing well all season. We have a 8 Point advantage over Celtic and i feel it is big enough to help us win the league
