English FA Chairman Peter Shilton fired Fabio Capello today after outrageous antics on the field during the game against Italy.

Capello was ordered to clear out his locker and make way for his replacement Roy Keane

Keane speaking at a news conference said he was delighted to be made the England Manager and was looking forward to taking the team to the finals of Euro 2012 next year.

Keane has spent the past years as manager of Ipswich and had just seen them missing out on promotion to the Premier League.

Capello had taken England to the World Cup Semi Finals in 2010 but fell into the old tradition of fielding players way past their prime.

Many fans were excited to see Lampard turn out for his 84th cap for England in the Semi Final but the age of the England team was too old with the likes of Lampard, James, Ferdinand and Jamie Carragher still playing.

Many feel that England could have gone further if younger players had been given a chance but Capello stuck to his beliefs and that has cost him his place as the manager.
