PostRoy Hodgson regrets comments about Liverpool fans

Quote:

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has apologised to fans for any offence caused by his comments after the 1-0 home defeat by Wolves on Wednesday.
The club's eighth league defeat of the season was greeted by a chorus of boos, prompting Hodgson to call for more backing from the terraces.
But at a Friday news conference he sought to clarify his comments.
"I'm disappointed and I certainly regret if I have offended them in any way," Hodgson said.

Roy Hodgson regrets comments about Liverpool fans :: Comments

I think you can sort of see where he's coming from though, it must be hard for a new manager, at one of the biggest clubs in World football, for the fans to want him out nearly straight away is hard, as they were never really on his side in the start. He's had to win them around, and that just hasn't happened.

The atmosphere at Anfield isn't the same as it was when they were actually winning games, and maybe that has a negative influence on the squad.

However, at the same time, I don't think he should've been given the chance to manage at Liverpool, as he really isn't good enough, nor is he a big enough name.
Hodgson can't be the only party to blame for Liverpool's disappointing start to this season; the players have to deliver, the manager can't come on the pitch and win the games. As much as a manager may try, it's up to the players to listen and I don't think 'Woy' has done much wrong.

His record speaks for himself; he did a brilliant job turning Fulham into a much better team, getting the most out of the likes of Zamora. That's because the players respected Hodgson and worked their hardest.

At Liverpool I don't think it's the same, and they're feeling sorry for themselves about the poor form.
